Due to demand the government has committed an additional £20m to support SME businesses in the North East to restart and recover.
Eligible SME businesses in The North East LEP area will be able to apply for an England European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) grant of between £1,000 and £3,000.
The fund can be used to access one to one expert advice on HR, accountants, legal, financial, Health and Safety, and IT. It can also be used to purchase minor equipment to adapt or adopt new technology in order to continue to deliver business activity or diversify in response to COVID-19.
Response for the first phase of funding was overwhelming with Expression of interest closing after just 90 minutes. We would advise you to prepare the required information now ready for the launch at 10:30am on Tuesday 15 September 2020.
Information required to register an Expression of interest:
- Name
- Company name, address and contact details.
- Number of employees, and number at risk of losing jobs.
- Previous year turnover and current year turnover (projected)
- Description on how your business has been negatively impacted by Covid-19 (Max 100 words)
- Description of what you intend to use the grant for, based on guidelines (Max 100 words)
