Our team building day in Newcastle for achieving Q2 2023 goals consisted of pottery painting at The Pottery Experience followed by crazy golf at Golf Fang.
First up was pottery painting which some members of staff were looking forward to more than others. However, everyone got into creative mode and really enjoyed it. Pottery painting judge, Sarah 'Cowell' Armstrong gave her critque on how the team performed.
The winner of the wooden spoon was James Kell. James produced the worst painting on show, it was without doubt 'abstract art', aptly described as a blob of colour which looked like a child had produced. However, it was closely contested with Phil Harnby's minimalistic Christmas tree which lacked detail – he basically painted his pottery green with multicoloured dots as baubles.
At the other end of the scale Nigel 'Picasso' Rea was in full concentration mode and delivered one of the best paintings of a scared cat anyone has ever seen. Poor Marley will be having nightmares when he goes for a drink out of his cat bowl.
Modest Judge Sarah thought her fine art piece of her dog Ruby was 'pretty good - if I do say so myself'. To be fair everyone agreed! The finished results are currently in the kiln drying and will be ready in 3 to 5 weeks.
After a lovely meal at Brack Burger in Jesmond, the team went on to Golf Fang. Birthday boys, James and Sol, both celebrating major birthdays decided to have a dance off. Video footage of the lads busting moves on the dance machine to 'Cotton Eyed Joe' could go viral on social media. It was hilarious!!
Crazy golf was great fun, and each hole had an 'interesting' theme. It was fiercely contested by the team, however Sol 'Ballesteros' Tones took the spoils, closely followed by Charlotte 'Faldo' Evans in second place and Phil 'Nicholson' Harnby in third position.
More importantly 'Team Mitchells' had another superb day out of the office.
