Andrew Houghton FMAAT Business Development Manager
Joined Mitchells: 2020 (Previously 2000 - 2018)
Qualifications & Achievements:
A Fellow Member of The Association of Accounting Technicians, Andrew is one of the original founders of this practice, with 36 years of accountancy experience gained in both small local, as well as large national, accountancy practices, with a spell in industry thrown in for good measure.
With extensive experience across all areas of professional practice Andrew also has a keen interest in business planning, cashflow forecasting, business acquisitions & disposals, and has also been involved in expert witness work.
Having taken early retirement in 2018, and rapidly becoming bored, Andrew turned his hand to teaching, and spent a year teaching the AAT syllabus to accountancy apprentices at a college in Gateshead, whilst simultaneously studying for his teaching qualification in the evenings.
Having been on this adventure, Andrew has now returned to Mitchells Grievson, in his original year 2000 role of Business Development Manager. He is responsible for growing the client base of our practice and making sure that all our clients are able to access every possible form of help and assistance.
Outside of work Andrew enjoys spending time with his family, exploring Scottish Islands on his holidays, and restoring old cars.
