Adapting to change & helping clients through Coronavirus

Practicing social distancing in our office

Like many other Businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic we are proud of how our business and the team have adapted to change, providing our clients with an accountancy service which has been above and beyond.

We have adopted an agile working environment and kept our doors open throughout the pandemic, whilst many other accountancy businesses had furloughed staff, shut their doors and were becoming difficult to reach.

A core nucleus of staff has remained working in the office with the rest of the team working at home and attending the office on rota system ensuring staff were safe and adequately socially distanced. We set up regular Teams meetings to ensure everyone was able to communicate efficiently and effectively.

The team have been extremely busy with some staff regularly working additional hours and late into the evening to ensure clients were receiving the best possible services and key deadlines were meet. None of the additional costs have been passed on to clients as we have developed an ethos of 'we are all in this together'.

Throughout COVID-19 the Government has released huge amounts of information regarding schemes to help businesses and save jobs and Mitchells Grievson played a vital role in analysing and interpreting it before acting as a conduit to pass it on to clients in a clear and concise manner.

In the last 3 months we have helped claim over £1.5 million from the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) on behalf of its client and have also advised on Bounce back Loans, Self-Employed Income Support Scheme and much more.

Business Development Manager, Andrew Houghton said: “We are extremely proud of how the team has adapted to change and we have remained open for business to help and advise clients through these challenging times. We have had lots of rewarding and positive feedback from clients that we provided a service to which exceeded their expectations”.
