Warm weather training pays dividends

Following a recent family holiday our Director, Nigel Rea returned to the road running circuit and smashed his 10k personal best time.

The news of this has sent shockwaves through the world of athletics ahead of the Great North Run 2022. This is Nigel's target race where he is running for MOVE.

Nigel completed his hometown 10k in 44 mins 43 seconds, finishing in 200th position overall and 23rd in his age category. A fantastic result – well done from all the team at Mitchells Grievson!

He said: “It was a great event, and I was chuffed to get a PB. I'm looking forward to the Great North Run and running for MOVE. It's a superb charity and I be extremely grateful if anyone would like to sponsor me.”

Nigel's wife Charlotte also competed in the race finishing in 55 mins 06 seconds, 528th position over all and 16th in her age category. A brilliant achievement – congratulations!

MOVE Charity was founded in 2016 by Charity Principle, Gemma Hillier-Moses who was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 24 in 2012. Her main aim was to inspire people to Move Against Cancer. She is hugely passionate about the benefits of exercise/movement both physically and mentally when living with and beyond cancer.
