The Mitchells Grievson team recently enjoyed an action-packed team-building day at Level X in Middlesbrough, packed with competition, camaraderie, and plenty of laughs.
Kicking off at 11am, the team took to the bowling lanes for a fiercely contested match. Sol and Andrew set the early pace, but Nigel's late-game strikes secured him the win. Sol took 2nd place, while Charlotte and Andrew shared 3rd. Charlotte, despite a rocky start, pulled off a comeback with a crucial strike. The game also saw impressive performances from first-time players and some creative excuses from more 'seasoned' bowlers (Phil, we're looking at you!).
However, the standout bowling moment undoubtedly came from Jayne, whose unique technique nearly saw her follow the ball straight down the lane. While her enthusiasm was second to none, her approach had the team on edge, wondering whether she'd make it back in one piece!
Next up was go-karting in the Drift Hall, which was set up in a Mario Kart-style format. The first race saw Sol cruising towards victory until an unexpected bombardment of virtual bombs slowed him down, allowing Andrew to seize the win and qualify for the Champion of Champions race. The second race saw Nigel in control until a crash involving Jayne reset the field. In the final showdown, Andrew crossed the finish line first, believing he had secured glory—only to find out that the fastest lap (set by Nigel) determined the overall winner!
Following the high-speed action, the team moved on to the pool hall, where three tables were booked alongside arcade games and air hockey. The tournament proved intense, with James and Charlotte's gruelling 50-minute semi-final leaving little time for a proper final. The last game was played under dim lighting, but the competitive spirit remained strong with Andrew beating James.
To wrap up the day, the team headed to Bazaar for a well-earned meal—the winning choice from the staff vote. It was the perfect way to unwind and reflect on another fantastic team-building event.
