Strikes, Spares, and Team Spirit: Mitchells Grievson Hits the Target!

At Mitchells Grievson, we believe hard work deserves a grand reward. After a stellar performance in Quarter 4 of 2025, our team officially smashed their targets, and it was time to celebrate in style.

In true democratic fashion, the team took a vote on where to head for our March 2026 away day. The winner? The brand-new, state-of-the-art Pin Entertainment Centre at Ramside Hall.

Let the Games Begin: Bowling & Smoke Screens

The day kicked off with some high-stakes ten-pin bowling. We split into four teams of four, and the competition was fierce. A quirky highlight of the new facility is the "Strike Smoke"—every time someone hits all ten pins, a smoke machine goes off! It makes for a great celebration, though it did leave the next person in line bowling into a mysterious fog.

The Leaderboard:

  • Winning Team: Rachel, Steph, Daniela, and Sylwia P took home the glory with the highest combined score.
  • Top Individual Scorer: James led the pack with a massive 143, followed closely by Sol with 130.
  • The "Just Enough" Award: Phil set himself a goal of 100 points and hit it exactly—talk about precision!

Aiming High at the Driving Range

The clear highlight for most of the team was the golf driving range. We tested our skills with two digital games: Go Fish (perfect for those of us just finding our swing) and the significantly more challenging Angry Birds.

While James considered bringing his professional golf glove, he decided against it to avoid some friendly office banter—though his performance suggests he might not have needed it anyway!

Lunch and Interactive Darts

After a fantastic lunch that fuelled us for the afternoon, we moved on to the interactive dartboards. There was a bit of a "equipment malfunction" for James, who brought his own lucky darts only to find the high-tech boards require specific connected equipment. Sorry, James!

The darts were such a hit that the team spent most of the afternoon dropping subtle (and not-so-subtle) hints to Phil about installing a dartboard in the office.

Looking Ahead

It was a brilliant day out at a fantastic local venue. These days are more than just fun; they are a chance for us to reconnect away from the desks and celebrate the collective effort that goes into making Mitchells Grievson a success.  The best news? We've already hit our next target. Stay tuned to see where the team chooses to go next!
