Mitchell's Grievson Chartered Accountants is delighted to share the results of our Charity Golf Day, co-hosted with MGL Wealth Management. In addition to a victory on the course, the event successfully raised more than £800 for PAPYRUS, a charity dedicated to preventing young suicide in the UK.
The event took place at the beautiful Headlam Hall, where the sun shone on 28 golfers competing in teams of 4 under Texas Scramble rules.
Victory for Team Mitchell's
In a nail-biting finish that saw four teams tied on a score of 53, Team Mitchell's - captained by Nigel Rea and featuring James Carruthers, Tony Clark, and Martin Cummings - emerged as the overall winners. They narrowly beat last year's reigning champions, captained by Chris Hutchinson, by just a fraction of a point.

Impactful Contributions
The heart of the event was the collective effort to support PAPYRUS. As suicide is the biggest killer of young people under 35 in the UK, the Mitchell's Grievson team felt it was imperative to use this platform to support mental health awareness and prevention.
"It was fantastic to see such a mix of skill levels and strategy on the course," Nigel Rea, Director at Mitchell's Grievson commented. "Taking home the trophy was a proud moment for our team, but the real win was the £800 raised for PAPYRUS. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated and participated."
Mitchell's Grievson would like to thank MGL Wealth Management for their partnership and Headlam Hall for providing an immaculate venue and generous prize for our fundraising draw.
